Welcome to Vibes Social Network (VSN)! By accessing or using our app, you agree to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, you are advised against the use of this mobile application.
1. Introduction
Vibes Social Network (“VSN”) is a platform designed to help users discover and share the best social experiences in Ottawa. Our mission is to foster community, transparency, and safety while connecting users with exciting venues and events.
2. Eligibility
- Minimum Age: You must be at least 19 years old to create an account or use the app.
- Regional Restrictions: VSN is currently only available for users located in Ottawa, Ontario.
3. Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at hana@vibesapp.ca.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
To ensure VSN remains a positive and inclusive space, users must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Community: Be respectful of others and contribute to a welcoming environment for all users. Share accurate and honest information to foster trust.
- Transparency: Refrain from misrepresenting yourself or your activities.
- Safety: Do not engage in behavior that could harm others. VSN prioritizes user safety and expects users to do the same.
Prohibited actions include, but are not limited to:
- Posting illegal, offensive, or harmful content.
- Harassing or abusing other users.
- Using the app for fraudulent or unauthorized purposes.
5. Content Ownership and Licensing
- User Content: By posting content on VSN, you retain ownership of your content. However, you grant VSN a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely for purposes of operating, promoting, and improving the app.
- Prohibited Use: You may not copy, distribute, or use content from VSN without prior written permission unless explicitly allowed by the app.
6. Privacy and Data Collection
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your data. By using VSN, you agree to our data practices outlined in the Privacy Policy. We collect:
- Information You Provide: Account details, profile data, and user-generated content.
- Automatically Collected Information: Usage data, device details, and IP addresses.
- Third-Party Data: Information from linked accounts (e.g., Google or Facebook).
- Shared Data: Content users voluntarily share within the app, which may be visible to venues and partners.
7. Subscription and Payment
VSN is free to use. In the future, we may introduce premium features available for a fee. Additional terms will apply to these features, and users will be notified before any changes.
8. Third-Party Links and Services
VSN does not currently integrate with third-party services. Any future integrations will be clearly communicated to users.
9. Termination
Users may delete their accounts at any time through the Settings page on their user profile. VSN reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts without prior notice for users who violate these Terms.
10. Limitation of Liability
VSN is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- VSN is not responsible for any damages or losses resulting from the use or inability to use the app.
- VSN disclaims liability for user-generated content, including posts, comments, or venue ratings.
- VSN does not guarantee the accuracy of venue information or event listings.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold VSN harmless from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising from your use of the app, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Ottawa, Ontario.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of changes via email or in-app notifications. Continued use of the app signifies acceptance of the updated Terms.
